In July of this year the Clean River Project pulled over 1,000 tires from the Merrimack
River in Haverhill in One day!!! Read about it in the Lawrence
Eagle Tribune by clicking here.
In the spirit of keeping our planet blue and green, fourteen employees from 3M Touch Systems joined Clean River Project
to clean up trash along the Merrimack River in Methuen. Twenty seven bags of trash were removed from beh
ind the Dunkin' Donuts,
Royal House, and the former parking lot of Beas.
The 3M volunteers picked up numerous items such as cans, bottles, paper,
plastic, clothing, household items and several tires.
Many thanks to this impressive group of volunteers who took time away
from their workday to help clean the Merrimack River. 3M encourages its employees worldwide to volunteer within the community.
They not only support a healthy environment by the products they develop and manufacture, they have the initiative to take action and get involved. (Enlarge the photo by clicking on it.)
Boats from the Clean River Project towed booms into place
in two locations on the Merrimack River yesterday in hopes of
catching more of the white plastic disks that escaped from
the Hooksett, N.H., wastewater treatment plant last week....

* Our deepest sympathy to the family of Mark Torres and his wife AnnMarie. He had many friends and will be sadly missed.
* Special Thanks to Team Haverhill !! Clean River Project will be expanding our Merrimack River cleanup into the Haverhill
portion of the river this year thanks to the generous donation and support of Team Haverhill.
The City of Haverhill should be proud to have an organization such as Team Haverhill who is willing to step up and help get the job done.
* UMass Lowell has donated two 30 foot aluminum docks. These docks will be used in several ways. One will remain stationary in the water
providing a place to dock the Clean River boats, as well as, a transfer station for the removal of large trash and debris from the water.
The second dock will be transformed into a new environmental clean-up barge equipped with a hydraulic arm allowing us to pick up heavier
items such as car engines and tires.
* GMC of Methuen has donated an 18 foot enclosed truck body. This container will be used for storage and temporary containment of
items such as bottles, cans, and foam, waiting to be recycled.
* Many thanks to the Anonymous donor and his family from Methuen who made a $5000 donation to fund the cleanup along the Merrimack in
the Methuen Valley. His commitment to cleaning up the Merrimack River and helping his community is an inspiration to us all.

From truck axles to kitchen sinks to hot-water tanks,

CLEAN RIVER PROJECT HELPING on the River Trails
AVIS (Andover Village Improvement Society) and the Andover Conservation Commission acquires land and works to preserve it in its natural state for public use and enjoyment. Clean River Project helps AVIS and the Andover Conservation Commission by removing trash and debris from the land and trails along the Merrimack River. Recently CRP helped Andover Conservation Commission in conjunction with the Andover Trails Committee by removing a bridge that had become a danger to hikers on the Merrimack River Trail. Plans are being made to build a new bridge in the spring.
You can see some photos of the bridge removal
by clicking here.
Clean River Project on Parade
CRP has made awareness appearances at the Methuen Santa Parade fundraiser, the Lowell Santa Parade, and the Methuen Santa Parade. The CRP “Ghost Busters” made an appearance at the Manchester New Hampshire Santa Parade and the Lowell and Methuen Santa Parades. Click Here for Picture.
THANKS TO ENEL GREEN POWER NORTH AMERICA FOR THE HELP
Enel Green Power North America Inc. is an owner and operator of renewable energy projects in North America and elsewhere. Enel is responsible for two such projects on the Merrimack River in Massachusetts, in Lowell and Lawrence. Clean River Project is grateful to Enel for doing their part to help clean the Merrimack River. On an ongoing basis, Enel incurs the cost of removing and disposing of trash that collects at the project sites. The trash comes from towns and cities upriver from Lowell as far as the Franklin Dam and Lake Winnipesaukee, in New Hampshire. If more people would do their part to keep the Merrimack clean, it would be much less work for the people at Clean River Project. We need all the help we can get. Thanks again to our friends at Enel North. Click Here for Images.
Ghost Busters and Clean River Project
The Ghost Buster vehicle and crew earn money to help support CRP.
One hundred percent of the money earned from appearances at Canobie Lake Park,
parades and other events goes to Clean River Project. Click here for a slideshow.
